- Age at Injection
- postnatal day 70-90 (adult)
- Time After Injection
- 4 weeks
- Detection Method
- Direct fluorescence
- Assay & Results
- Expression was largely localized to the ventral hippocampus. In some cases, expression was also seen in dentate gyrus or entorhinal cortex. Expression was most notable in pyramidal neurons.
- Functional Testing
- The tool operated as expected. The virus expressed a calcium binding protein bound to a fluorescent reporter (GCaMP). Fluorescence was recorded using fiber photometry, following an emission of 470nm via an optical implant to excite the GCaMP.
- Other Information
- I did not see toxicity or inflammation
