Abstract
Experimental results for Anti-MAPT [AT8] (Addgene #216150) in an immunohistochemistry assay with human brain samples.
Citation
Anti-MAPT [AT8] in Immunohistochemistry (Human). Wu Z, Wang W 2024. Addgene Report, https://doi.org/10.57733/addgene.go1pq7
Caption: Brain sections from the frontal pole were labeled with Anti-MAPT [AT8] from Addgene (216150-rAb) or Invitrogen (MN1020). As expected, the labeling patterns in individuals with Alzheimer's or Hoarding disorder suggests MAPT expression while that of an individual with diabetes and cancer does not. Human brain tissue was analyzed from postmortem sources and is available thanks to the generosity of the tissue donors and their families through Neuropathology Brain Bank & Research CoRE at Mount Sinai.

Thick-Section Based Antibody Screening (Link opens in a new window)
Controls
The labeling pattern in individuals with Alzheimer's or Hoarding disorder (expect MAPT expression) were compared to an individual with cancer (don't expect MAPT expression). Labeling was compared to an alternative anti-MAPT antibody (Invitrogen #MN1020).
